Steps to Analyzing a Political Cartoon:
Answer the following Questions while you examine a political cartoon.

1. Does the cartoon have a title? If so, what does it mean
2. Who is the figure in the cartoon? (name, position)
3. What is the figure doing or saying?
4. What is the setting?
5. Where and when does the action in the cartoon take place
6. Are there any symbols in the cartoon? If so, what do they mean?
7. Are any comparisons being made? If so, what are they
8. Who or what is the cartoonist “satirizing” (poking fun at)
9. What is the overall message of the cartoon?
10. Is the cartoon effective? Why/why not?

SS11: Tue =HW Check Stamps checked. Thursday= WWII research project due. Fri=Final Test and wrap up.

SS11: Today we finished WWII Part 2 notes, tomorrow we have a quiz on WWII Notes. Next we watch Darkest Hour video & did some questions on it-due at end of period. On Friday we wrapped up notes on the end of the war & Completed 2 Q’s on Holocaust (in classroom) using the comic books.

SS11: Thurs at lunch= re-quiz on Germany. Due next day is the U3 Ex.7 on Causes of WWII. Also we watched Darkest Hour video and did some questions on it. Also due Thursday. Read WWII Notes Part 1.

SS11: Tue we finished the movie early in the period, part of class was time for the two paragraphs(due Wed). Intro to WWII scavenger hunt was due end of Tues Class & we started on Ex. 7 Causes WS – will be due end of Wed Class..
