today we finished the branches of gov’t Tree and did some notes on a bill becoming a law. Next day we start the video proj on Charter.

Today we started on HBC NWC posters. We also did a video notes WS. Posters are due by the end of tomorrows class.

Last Day B4 Easter Weekend

Term 1 now closed off.

Stamps for HW marks were counted today and worth up to 10% of term.

Today we did a review sheet and X-word on WWII. Test on the Tuesday on WWII.

Today we handed in the Knowledge of Colonial Perspectives Sheet and did an exit slip. Next class is speeches and the debate begins.

Storming Juno : Assignment
Explain how Canadians were able to secure the Juno beaches in Normandy France during the D-Day campaign.

Today we had an extra day to work on our project. Project presentations are on Tues March. 27 in class and NO LATES allowed.

We started on WWII by watching a video on Hitler. We handed in Ex.1 for a stamp. While the video was on we also completed Ex.5-5 (you can find it on our class moodle site). Read p.120-123.

Today we worked on our Victorian Projects in the library.

Project due on Tues after spring break.

We finished the play and then started on notes on the crusades.

Today we finished off the the 1930’s and finished notes on rise of Fascism.

We handed in : Consequences of the Great Depression: Unemployment, Banking failures, political consequences, & Change in the Role of Gov’t.

Today(Thursday) we had our Ch.2 Test. Then we Read p.84-87 in Ch.3 and did p.92  Q#6

How did the Rebellions end? (read p.77-80)
1. How were the rebels punished by the government? What happened to them.
2. Lord Durham was sent to the colonies to make a report after Britain realized they must make some changes.
What were Durham’s recommendations?
3. How were these recommendations received in the colonies?

We did a mini biography of Papineau and Mackenzie’s role in Rebellions. Also a flow chart of the stages of the rebellions. We will have 20min next day to finish.
